Special Book Sale/Open House on October 12th

On Saturday, Oct. 12th; Friends and the Kingstowne Center for Active Adults will both have a special event! The KCAA will be featuring its open house. Friends will have its special “second Saturday” sale. We look forward to seeing you!

How Friends helps the library.

The Friends would like to take a moment to list some of the ways in which it fulfills its mission. Next Friends meeting, Oct 15th, 2013. 7PM in the Library

Our next meeting is just under a month away. We will be meeting at 7:00PM in the large meeting room of the Kingstowne library. Topics to be discussed: – Continued advocacy from Friends group in support of positive changes in the library. – Various events in the library community (Foundation Jubilee, Board Meetings…) – An annual budget for our Friends group. We hope to see you there!

Thank you everyone who came out to support us at our July meeting. It was an extremely productive meeting. We were able to conduct officer elections, revise our bylaws, review our budget, and have an in-depth discussion on some of the upcoming changes to the library system. Full meeting notes will be available shortly.

Next meeting, July 16th, 2013, 7PM, Kingstowne Library

Our next meeting will take place at 7:00PM in the large meeting room of the Kingstowne Library. The July meeting is the “main annual” meeting in which officers present reports. As it is an election year, we will also hold board elections. We will vote on whether or not to adopt our new bylaws, which have been posted for everyone to view and comment. We will also discuss the ever growing issue of “blue bins”, and upcoming changes to the library; including the proposed move to a “single service desk”, and unmanned kiosks.
